AE 5600 - Electrical Code for Buildings3 lecture hours 0 lab hours 3 credits Course Description This course highlights the electrical code as it applies to building projects. Students will review the applicable rules for power systems, emergency backup power systems, distribution systems as well as for solar PV systems. Focus will be on the application of the code on the electrical design of these systems. (prereq: AE 3601 or equivalent) Course Learning Outcomes Upon successful completion of this course, the student will be able to:
- Understand the basic areas covered in the National Electrical Code
- Apply the National Electrical Code to various power systems in buildings
- Apply the National Electrical Code to various types of buildings such as high-rise buildings, health care buildings, and data centers
