GE 791 - Engineering Specialty Paper3 lecture hours 0 lab hours 3 credits Course Description This course is designed to give the student an opportunity to integrate knowledge in a chosen specialty, identify a current problem or project in the field, and develop a paper analysis/design which will be reviewed by a faculty in the specialty. This is a culminating course in the non-project option which serves as an avenue to review the program experience with the program director who facilitates the course. A final paper is expected along with an oral presentation at the end of the course. (prereq: two 700- or 800-level courses in the chosen specialty) Course Learning Outcomes Upon successful completion of this course, the student will be able to:
- Carry out an in-depth independent investigation on a technical topic with minimal supervision
- Write a formal report which clearly presents a new body of knowledge learned
