HU 4803 - Music IV1 lecture hours 2 lab hours 1 credits Course Description The course is a continuation of HU 4802 and is offered in the fall. This course offers performers an exciting environment in which to develop their talents in the performance and appreciation of music. The course will provide a diverse array of performance opportunities including the fall concert and other community events. (prereq: none) Course Learning Outcomes Upon successful completion of this course, the student will be able to:
- Acquire strong foundations in performance and music appreciation
- Demonstrate their talents and skills in solo performance and ensemble playing in a variety of public venues
- Perform in small chamber or jazz ensembles and larger orchestral, wind, brass, and jazz ensembles at the fall concert
- Demonstrate technical skills requisite for artistic self-expression on the principal instrument or voice
- Sight read at a skill level appropriate to professional standards
