ME 862 - Advanced Mechanical System Design3 lecture hours 0 lab hours 3 credits Course Description This course reviews the analysis of springs and screws when subjected to a combination of steady and alternating loads. The course investigates the design and analysis of advanced machine components. Included are topics such as belting, clutches, brakes, welds, rivets, journal bearings, cams, and impact stresses. (prereq: ME 205, ME 206, ME 207, or equivalent) Course Learning Outcomes Upon successful completion of this course, the student will be able to:
