AC 4923 - AS Capstone I3 lecture hours 0 lab hours 3 credits Course Description This is the first of two-course sequence. Students, working in teams of two to four, will propose a project or will pick one of the projects offered by the faculty advisor of the course. The purpose of the project is to apply the knowledge that they have learned through the Actuarial Science program courses to a case study. Students will meet regularly with their faculty advisor to report their progress. (prereq: MA 2630 , MA 2631 , MA 2410 , MA 2411 , MA 390 , or consent of the course faculty advisor) Course Learning Outcomes Upon successful completion of this course, the student will be able to:
- Apply probability concepts in a real-life case study
- Apply statistics and time series analysis to a real-life case study
- Apply finance and financial mathematics concepts to a real-life case study
