CH 2260 - Biochemistry for Life Sciences3 lecture hours 2 lab hours 4 credits This course introduces students to biomolecules, proteins, carbohydrates, lipids, and nucleic acids in relation to human physiology. Structure and function and their roles in the human body will be discussed. Structure and functions of hormones and neurotransmitters will be studied. Enzymes and their roles in metabolism will be discussed. Application of computers and online data bases such as Medline in the study of biomolecules will be introduced. (Not open to engineering majors.) (prereq: CH 2250 )
