MB 6130 - Decision Making and Predictive Models3 lecture hours 2 lab hours 4 credits Course Description Students develop proficiency with advanced statistical techniques, and learn to identify appropriate tools or combinations of tools to address different decision making scenarios in the organization. Special attention is paid to the application of analytics to predict future trends and probabilities. On-going focus is placed on communicating analytical results and interpretations to a range of audiences. (prereq: MB 6120 ) Course Learning Outcomes Upon successful completion of this course, the student will be able to:
- Develop proficiency in the use of data and statistical tools with ability to apply analytical techniques within each decision-making category
- Explain data and analytical technique appropriate to support strategy and decision-making in a given scenario
- Illustrate the benefits of business analytics for individual, organization and stakeholders
- Monitor and influence use of data and analytical techniques
- Develop and deliver persuasive messages when advocating for a viewpoint or perspective
