ME 3650 - Systematic Engineering Design3 lecture hours 0 lab hours 3 credits Course Description This course presents methods for consistent problem solving in the research and development environment. Creativity is coupled to systematic engineering processes. A project work is included, based on realistic mechanical engineering problems. The fundamental steps in product development are introduced. Specifying a requirements list, applying a methodical search for solutions, developing a concept in a specification booklet, and sketches of complete machine concepts are components of this course. A final report is required as well as a presentation of the results in front of student audience.
