GE 3601 - Solid Modeling and Design I2 lecture hours 2 lab hours 3 credits Course Description In this course, the use of parametric solid modeling software in engineering design will be explored. Students will learn the basic modeling skills needed to create part models, assemblies and detailed drawings. Integration of solid modeling into the product design process will be emphasized. The course includes a design project. (prereq: None) Course Learning Outcomes Upon successful completion of this course, the student will be able to:
- Model 3D parts using parametric techniques
- Assemble part models into assemblies
- Create 2D drawings of parts and assemblies
- Analyze part models for simple manufacturing concerns
