AE 6230 - Reinforced Concrete Structure Design3 lecture hours 0 lab hours 3 credits Course Description This course presents the design of reinforced concrete floor systems. Topics include design of pan joists systems; design of two way slabs and flat plate floors; ACI Direct Design and Equivalent Frame methods; connection design; and commercial structural design software. (prereq: Graduate Standing; AE 3231 or equivalent) Course Learning Outcomes Upon successful completion of this course, the student will be able to:
- Be familiar will the ACI code provisions and engineering methods needed to design any of the common concrete floor systems: Pan joist, wide pan, flat slab and flat plate with conventional reinforcement
