MG 631 - Research and Writing (Module One)1 lecture hours 0 lab hours 1 credits This course is the first of a three-course sequence designed to familiarize RSOB graduate students with the fundamentals of research and writing necessary for successful completion of academic papers in graduate work at MSOE. MG-631 is a blended course. The majority of the course’s learning activities take place online, but the course does feature 2 two-hour, face-to-face meetings at MSOE that all students are required to attend. MG-631 is designed to introduce students to fundamental concepts and tools in graduate-level library research and academic paper writing, including types of research, library databases, Internet research techniques, and bibliographic management tools; the course also covers use of APA style manual, as well as the planning, organization, writing, formatting, and documentation of academic papers. Students will have access to online resources to assist them in completing research and writing projects for this course. (prereq: graduate standing)
