BME 4210 - Medical Imaging Systems2 lecture hours 2 lab hours 3 creditsCourse Description The objective of this course is to introduce the students to medical imaging system modalities, multi-dimensional systems and signals, and the fundamentals of image processing. The fundamental concepts of physics, technology, and operation of medical imaging modalities such as x-ray radiography, computed tomography, magnetic resonance imaging, ultrasound and nuclear medicine systems will be presented. The concepts of image acquisition, reconstruction, and fundamental image processing techniques will be discussed and practiced.
