MT 4201 - Industrial Materials3 lecture hours 2 lab hours 4 credits This course continues the study of industrially important materials and processing methods with an emphasis on the relationship between structure, properties and processing. Topics include strengthening mechanisms in metals, phase diagrams, heat treating, plastic properties, and failure modes for metals and plastics. The course includes a lab component for the verification of heat-treating steel, brass, aluminum, and for testing of mechanical properties. (prereq: CH 310 , MT 1201 , MT 205 )
