BE 4820 - Biomedical Feedback Control Systems II

3 lecture hours 3 lab hours 4 credits
The objective of this course is to expand topics in classical feedback control theory, introduce modern control theory, and to apply these topics to the solution of both classical and biological feedback control problems. The student will expand their abilities to analyze control systems using Routh-Hurwitz, root-locus, and frequency response analysis. The students will use those techniques for PI, PD, and PID feedback control system design. Discrete-time systems, sampled data systems, and analysis and design of digital control systems will also be studied. Matlab and Simulink will be used model analog and digital control systems. The laboratory will investigate aspects of control systems found in living systems. (prereq: BE 4810 , BE 4800 )
