BA 2720 - Systems Analysis and Design

Course Description
This course provides a survey of business systems development methodologies. The course will emphasize practical application of key concepts, tools, and techniques used in the systems development life cycle. Key concepts include feasibility assessment, requirements analysis, design techniques, implementation strategies, and the software procurement process. (prereq: BA 2710 , BA 2730 )
Course Learning Outcomes
Upon successful completion of this course, the student will be able to:
  • Describe various system design methodologies.
  • Explain key phases of systems analysis and design including specific activities and deliverables.
  • Evaluate technical, operational, and economic feasibility of systems projects.
  • Demonstrate various systems requirements gathering and documentation techniques.
  • Understand various systems design documentation techniques.
  • Explain the software procurement process.
  • Understand system implementation considerations.
