GE 3302 - Instrumentation and Control of Engineered Systems

3 lecture hours 2 lab hours 4 credits
Course Description
This course teaches the fundamentals of measurement systems and will prepare students to design and conduct engineering experiments. Basic concepts in mechatronic systems will be introduced.  Topics include the general characteristics of measurement systems: static, transient and periodic signals, 1st and 2nd order response, signal conditioning, sampling and D/A conversion. Laboratory topics will include the use of specific transducers, which includes the physical principle for each transducer and the advantages and limitations of the measurement techniques, along with fundamental concepts in signal conditioning and data acquisition. A project is included in this course. (prereq: EE 201 , GE 2006  or ME 2003 , GE 3901 or ME 190 )
