UX 1400 - Foundations of User Experience2 lecture hours 2 lab hours 3 credits Course Description This seminar-style course introduces students to User Experience (UX) as a profession and explores key roles, skills, tools, and career paths for a UX specialist. Class projects are designed to provide students with the basic principles of UX design and process. Online videos, guest speakers, and class discussions help students develop a better sense of the field and career options. Students build a basic digital portfolio to start properly branding themselves as UX professionals. (prereq: none) Course Learning Outcomes Upon successful completion of this course, the student will be able to:
- Understand the different theories and disciplines related to user experience (UX)
- Understand and explore various UX career types and job responsibilities
- Understand the UXCD program curriculum and other UX-related coursework at MSOE
- Apply design thinking, basic pricniples of neuroscience and UX to various real-life problems
- Create a basic digital portfolio in Weebly or an aletrnative website builder
