UX 361 - Usability Research Methods

Course Description
This course will introduce students to the basics in UX research methods for each stage of the development process. Students will learn about the importance of non-traditional user research methodologies, determine which method to use for projects when it is most appropriate, and experiment with research methodologies. (prereq: GS 1002 )
Course Learning Outcomes
Upon successful completion of this course, the student will be able to:
  • Understand the basics of UX research
  • Understand the difference between traditional and non-traditional research methodologies
  • Recognize the importance of clearly defining the problem for a usability research study
  • Understand the methods of conducting usability research
  • Comprehend the design phases of usability research tools6 
  • Understand a usability research project
